Netta Shahar is a composer and vocal performer.
She first received her musical education as a child, singing in a choir, and discovered the world of musical composition during high school.
Netta graduated from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance with a Master's degree in composition, where she studied under Mr. Rafi Kadishson and Prof. Amnon Wolman.
In addition, she studied with Prof. Oded Zehavi, as well as at BPM College.
Netta participated in various international composition programs at Atlantic Music Festival, Festival Mixtur, Banff Centre, Festival d'Aix-en-Provence and more.
Her works include pieces for orchestra, chamber and vocal ensembles, choral pieces, electroacoustic music, music for dance, and immersive projects.
Her compositions and arrangements were performed by leading orchestras, ensembles and choirs among them the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Israel Camerata, Meitar Ensemble, Pro Coro Canada, JAMD Chamber Choir and the Israeli Opera.
As a vocalist, Netta was a member of several choirs and vocal ensembles including JAMD Chamber Choir, Moran Singers Ensemble, Great Gehenna Choir and the vocal trio Gurgulitza, which she co-founded in 2018.
Netta is a recipient of several scholarships and grants, among them Rabinovich Foundation for the Arts Scholarship, Sir Jack Lyons Scholarship for the Arts, AICF Scholarship and Mifal Hapais Grant.
